    Itinerary Overview

We’ll begin our tour at Avignon in the morning, which is reputed as the City of Popes. After the Vatican relocated here in 1309, this city witnessed the glorious history of seven popes until 1377. The famous Palais des Papes was also built during this period. Avignon is a symbolic city of French art and history. In the afternoon, we will head to the Stone Village - Gordes, which is impressive in the work A Year in Provence. Gordes is also known as the Floating Village or Sky City in that it seems to float above the ground. Built in the Middle Ages, it consists of countless stacked limestone. Afterward, the next destination is Abbaye de Sénanque, in which we can visit the Lavender Museum en route. The story line of A Year in Provence unfolds with Abbaye de Sénanque as a setting, which is also a landmark in Provence.

(Special note: Lavender is seasonal. The best time to enjoy its beauty is June, July and August. Due to climate change, growth cycle and harvest events, exuberant lavender fields can not be guaranteed.)

    Itinerary Overview

In the morning, we will head to Arles, a small town known as Van Gogh’s muse. As Arles was marked as a priority development city in the Roman Empire, it is home to ancient Roman heritages. The story of prestigious artist Van Gogh makes the town more vigorous. With merely a year of stay, though, Van Gogh created more than 200 oil paintings here and it marked the golden year of his creation. The Langlois Bridge at Arles with Women Washing, Cafe Terrace at Night, and Vincent’s Bedroom in Arles are the most well-known masterpieces. Visiting these sites after admiring the work mentioned above, you will amaze with the vividness and verisimilitude of his work. Next, we will stroll along the Southern France highways toward the France-Spanish Border and cross into Spanish to travel to the coastal city - Barcelona, Catalonia province. Time permitting, you will enjoy wonderful dinner at the Olympic Beach.
