Edinburgh round trip: Scotland Highlands 5-Day Tour - Isle of Skye and Glen Coe, 1-6 Pax Private Group

After meeting in Edinburgh in the morning, travel via the Forth Bridge to St Andrews, the home of golf, for an in-depth visit. Then continue to Dundee for a city tour. Afterward, visit Perth, Scotland's "Fair City," and return to Glasgow to check in at the hotel. Accommodation: Glasgow or a nearby town.

[St Andrews] about 1.5 hours total. This ancient town on Scotland's east coast is known as the birthplace of golf, home to the oldest university in the UK, and famous for medieval ruins. [St Andrews Cathedral] is one of the most magnificent surviving medieval buildings in Scotland.  [St Andrews Castle] exterior visit, admission not included. St Andrews Castle is a historic 12th-century landmark with a turbulent history of destruction and reconstruction [University of St Andrews] It is Scotland's first university and one of the three oldest universities in the English-speaking world, after Oxford and Cambridge.

[Dundee] about 1 hour.Nicknamed the City of Discovery, Dundee is famous for numerous world-changing inventions.Visit the city square, stroll through the old streets, and see Broughty Castle, free admission.

[Perth] about 1 hour. Perth is a city in central Scotland on the banks of the River Tay. [Scone Palace] admission included. Scone Palace is a historic palace and the former coronation site of Scottish kings nearly 1,000 years ago, rated as a five-star visitor attraction in Scotland.

In the morning, visit Loch Lomond, the largest lake in Scotland,Then continue into the Scottish Highlands to Glen Coe. Afterward, visit Glenfinnan Viaduct, a Harry Potter filming location, pass by Loch Ness. Accommodation: Inverness, Fort William, or a nearby city.

[Loch Lomond] about 1 hour. Loch Lomond is the largest lake in Scotland, located in the southern Highlands. Surrounded by mountains, it attracts countless visitors with its graceful scenery.

[Glen Coe] about 1 hour total. As the gateway to the Scottish Highlands, Glen Coe is a famous filming spot for Harry Potter and Skyfall. Photo stop at the Three Sisters, Glen Coe's iconic landscape: three steep peaks standing side by side in a powerful formation.

[Glenfinnan Viaduct] about 30 minutes. The scene in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets where the Hogwarts Express and the flying blue Ford Anglia cross the West Highlands and pass over Glenfinnan Viaduct was filmed here.

[Loch Ness] about 1 hour total. As the third-largest freshwater lake in the UK, Loch Ness never freezes. Its beautiful surroundings and mysterious monster legend attract visitors from around the world.

After gathering in the morning, cross the Skye Bridge, the only bridge connecting the island to the Scottish mainland, to reach the Isle of Skye. After the visit, pass Eilean Donan Castle, exterior visit about 20 minutes, and return to the hotel to rest. Accommodation: Inverness, Fort William, or a nearby city.

[Isle of Skye] about 2.5 hours total. The Isle of Skye is poetically known as the island in the sky. Located west of the Scottish Highlands in the Inner Hebrides, Skye has a wild, desolate, and spectacular landscape.

[Portree] Located on the Isle of Skye in the Inner Hebrides,and is the largest town on the island. Its fairy-tale street scene and row of colorful houses make it a popular photo stop.

[Old Man of Storr] distant view. The Old Man of Storr was formed by ancient geological movement. From a distance, the rock shape resembles the profile of an old man, hence its name.

[Lealt Falls] is a dramatic natural attraction on the northeast coast of the Isle of Skye, carved by the River Lealt. The two-tier waterfall drops 90 meters into a gorge and flows into the Sound of Raasay.

[Kilt Rock] Named for its kilt-like rock texture, Kilt Rock stands beside the striking Mealt Falls on the coast. If the Kilt Rock parking area is closed or subject to visitor limits, time will be adjusted and extended at later attractions as appropriate.

After breakfast at the hotel, depart for Oban, the seaside town known as the gateway to the Hebrides. After the visit, continue to Inveraray Castle, a filming location for Downton Abbey. Accommodation: Glasgow or a nearby city.

[Oban] about 1.5 hours. Oban is a picturesque seaside town on Scotland's west coast, known as the "Seafood Capital of Scotland." McCaig's Tower, an amphitheater-like structure, was built by local banker John Stuart McCaig, a lover of Rome, as a family memorial. Oban Harbour is one of the best photo spots, where you can see many boats and seabirds.

[Inveraray Castle] admission included, about 1 hour. The castle is one of the earliest examples of Gothic Revival architecture.  It was a filming location for the Christmas special of Downton Abbey Season 3, appearing in the drama as Duneagle Castle.

After breakfast at the hotel, depart for Pollok Country Park, then continue to Stirling. Return to Edinburgh in the afternoon, where the tour ends in the evening.

[Pollok Country Park] about 3 hours.The park was opened to the public for free. It is the largest park in Glasgow. In addition to grassland, lakes, forests, and other natural scenery, visitors may also see Highland cattle. Historical and cultural sites include Pollok House and Garden and the Burrell Collection.

[Stirling] about 2 hours. Stirling is a strategic gateway between the Scottish Lowlands and Highlands, known as the gateway to Scotland. [Stirling Castle] admission included. Situated on high ground, it is one of the most important castles in Scottish history and was once a royal residence for Scottish kings and queens. [Wallace Monument] exterior visit. This tower was built to honor Scottish national hero William Wallace; exhibitions and displays inside tell his legendary story. [Stirling Old Town Square] This historic square is the heart of Stirling and was once a center of commerce and social life. [The Riverside Park] offers a relaxing place to enjoy nature, with shaded greenery and water features ideal for walking and picnics.
